Well, It Seems We’ve Survived

Well, the famous 21.12.2012 finally came and it seems we’ve all survived it! The misinterpreted Mayan prophecy caused lot of fear and hysteria around the world. People did lots of things – from incidents in China, overpacking and making storages of food, beverage, cloths and stuff to making money out of it, but finally as many others expected – nothing happened. It’s interesting how people were so frightened and all, beside scientists from NASA for example or rest of living Mayas themselves saying that the end of their calendar does not mean the end of the world. It is just the end of a cycle, an era, and the beginning of another one. The same as we count new year from January 1st. Thousands of tourists, hippies, mystics and spiritual wanderers came today in the ruined ancient Mayan sites to celebrate the new cycle of the Mayan calendar, unlike some others who feared that today the world as we know it would end. On Thursday evening, local Mexican dancers conjured the Snake God in the ancient remains of Chichen Itza. Here’s a mix of pictures about that and some other funny moments connected to this day. Have fun!
