they are paintings of photographs. thats why you see the camera in some reflections. to paint that from memory would just be insane. idiots.

What the previous commenters said is not so idiotic, duh. Yeah, to paint them from memory would be insane, but to paint them looking at the actual objects would not only be also insane but impossible too – then they wouldn’t look like photographs at all, because the “artists” need the photographs in order to know where to put lighting or leave the image out of focus. So, apart from being a display of painstaking work, they have ZERO ARTISTIC VALUE, exactly because they are nothing more than identical copies of photographs. I mean, what’s the point? Just use a scanner and a color printer.

these paintings are amazing!!!!! i learned in art class that oil paints (i think it was oil) tends to have that result. CRAZY!!!! plus they showed us pictures of them in class. :O
