It is named after Edwin Hubble, an American astronomer who profoundly changed our understanding of the universe by demonstrating the existence of galaxies other than our own (the Milky Way). Telescope Hubble has confirmed that his “namesake” was right. It reveal galaxies billions of light years away. But these images we do not use for scientific research. They help us to get fed our hunger for art and to feel the magnificence of the universe.
