He’s Bringing Dolls to Life!
I’m sure you’re all familiar with ventriloquist Jeff Dunham who gives voices to many characters and thus bringing dolls to life. In all of his stand-up comedies and performances he amuses crowds of people that are dying of laughter by watching him and his characters. Here’s a short introduction for those who somehow managed to stay unfamiliar with them.
1. Walter – one of the best characters!
This grimed old man is a representative of all old grumblers. A completely prototype character – everything bothers him, he can’t stand his wife, constantly quarreling with her, has his own way of living preoccupied with old man’s (health and other) problems, he is never in the good mood… his favorite words are ‘Oh, shut the hell up’, ‘you dumbasses’ and ‘I don’t give a damn’. Sounds like someone you know?
A positively crazy and funny character that always has to say something funny about any subject. He makes fun of everything, but not in a rude way. In some cases, he does have a point. I don’t know what else to say about this character except for – probably the one that will make you laugh to tears, literally! Of course his favorite saying is ‘That’s gooood’ (you have to hear it)…
3. Achmed, the dead terrorist
This skeleton of (ex) suicide bomber represents a parody on all so-serious stories about terrorist attacks and their beliefs. Achmed is or better say was a not so smart guy, that practically sends a message of how stupid that is to be a suicide bomber, though guys who are doing that for their or someone else’s ideals, obviously don’t think so, but in ‘his own’ hilarious way. You can say that this doll is bringing to life the other dead terrorists. Sentences you know him for are ‘Silence, I kill you’ and ‘Good evening, infidel’ and maybe ‘God dammit… I mean Allah dammit’
4. Jose Jalapeno… on a stick
This Mexican American pepper on a stick is not so much funny itself as it is in the conflict with Peanut. I do not know of any way I could tell you about it, more than recommend you to watch it for yourselves.
There are more characters in Jeff Dunham’s show, that are also funny, but for me these 4 are the best. Here are the others dolls he’s bringing to life.
