Food of Love

I guess everybody knows what aphrodisiacs are – something that revives our sexuality, but only few people knows the origin of its name. It is derived from name of the Greek goddess Aphrodite, the goddess of love and sexuality. Through the time, lots of things and food were considered something that makes sex more likely to happen and be more pleasurable. It is not strictly determined what of those are really so and what causes the placebo effect, but, from the scientific point of view food on this list are aphrodisiacs for sure.

10. Asparagus

This is a herb analyzed since 17th century, when it is showed that it ‘stirs up the lust in men and women’. After that, in the 19th century, we can find writings that say that asparagus was eaten by bride and groom before their first wedding night, and not just asparagus, but three dishes of aphrodisiac food. However, the asparagus is proven to contain lots of elements, like vitamins (A, C, B6), folic acid and some other things that increase histamine production which is essential for orgasms in both sexes. If there is someone who practices eating this for better sex experience, please, tell the others is it really worth trying.

9. The Devil’s Soup

It is wide known that when people get drunk, everything may happen, from just a simple kiss with someone to spending the whole, wild night with a stranger. The movies and series are full of examples for this statement. So, the alcohol affects our sexual behavior for sure. I’m not sure what exactly is in there, but some say it is creditable for lots of relations and long wild nights.

8. Chocolate

You wouldn’t believe for how long the chocolate exist – earliest know mention of chocolate is from 1100 B.C. and it’s said that Aztecs were making it in a form of a drink firstly. Today’s chocolate must be different, not sure if better or worse, but it still causes mostly the same reactions in people. It affects the brain’s neurotransmitters that affect our feelings, so we are more likely to have an intercourse than usually. The true mix is chocolate with red wine for the perfect experience.

7. Oysters

Well, it must be in every aphrodisiac foods list, because of its properties, that’s why it is called the cliche of all aphrodisiacs. It is proven that oysters are full of zinc that is  responsible for the progesteron and testosterone in organism and positively affects the sexual desire. Oysters were firstly selected as aphrodisiac because of their physical resemblance to female sex organ, but later on is discovered that zinc is responsible for everything. Did you know that the lack of zinc causes the erectile dysfunction? So, go for the oysters!

6. Avocado

If you are aware of how avocado looks like it’ll be making a perfect sense to you that it is on this list. Besides looking like ‘hanging tree testicles’ as the Spanish Inquisition said when forbade it, it is also full of elements that influence our body’s processes. It’s proven that its ingredients enrich and strengthen our immune system, but the avocado also contains elements in a way responsible for sexual urges – potassium, folic acid, B6… It is enough to say that even Aztecs used it, so it’s been a long tradition of this fruit.

5. Chinese Ginseng

This plant is a natural stimulant for boosting the libido. It can be ingested either in tea form or as a supplement; you can buy it dried but it is very expensive, though – for only 30 grams you will have to pay about 50$! But look at it this way, it’s better than viagra which is almost the same price, and it has both energizing and stress relieving characteristics. By the way, the meaning of this word is literally ‘man’s root‘ which explains its usage.

Almonds, like other aphrodisiacs are full of zinc, potassium. They are good to eat, not just for your sexual life, but life itself.

There are, apparently, many ways of eating strawberries; from where and with what is a personal choice. Food of Love

1. Honey

Use of honey is also reported in Bible, as well as the ‘first’ doctor, Hippocrates, was prescribing it for treating sexual issues. That says enough, we’ll agree. But in addition, let’s think about ‘honeymoon‘, why it is called honey? An old tradition is that bride and groom must drink honey every evening from their wedding to the first New moon; that’s how Attila the Hun died… On the other hand, we have science that says it is full of vitamin B and some acids that boost stamina.
