Fairies – Supernatural Beings with Magical Powers
Everybody knows about fairies, either from movies and cartoons or from books and tales. But how much do we actually know about them? The word “fairy” means enchantment and it is represented by a small and supernatural being that possesses magical powers. Those powers can be both good and bad, and the usage of some of them determines whether the fairy is good or bad (bad fairies are called witches). The cultural origins are unknown, but the form in which we know them today, and all the information we have dates back to the Middle Ages. From the ancient times, in all the traditions around the world, people believe in these creatures. Stories say that they are made of ethereal substance, and they are translucent. Fairies rarely present themselves to humans but when they do, they disappear in a blink of an eye, other than that they’re considered invisible. There are many legends, especially in Greek mythology about fairies, but also in French, British and German. This is how some people imagine them.
